Great Freebie online - Popplet.com

What a great FREE tool for school. Popplet is a platform for your ideas.  Its super simple interface frees you  to focus your thought on task at hand.  With Popplet you can capture your ideas and sort them visually in realtime.

I had used the tool to write chapter summary (each popplet is one chapter) for the book "Watsons go to Birmingham".  Lines can be drawn between the popplet to show the connection and sequence of the chapters in the book.  Popplet.com can help students analyze the sequence of events in their reading comprehension.  In the sixth grade ELA class where I did student teaching, students had to work on a series of drill / practice skill book prior to the high stake test.  One of reading skill being practice is "Sequence" which help student understand the order/sequence of events in  reading comprehension.  A good use of Popplet is to have student use popplet to draw a sequence-of-events diagram to support their understanding of the text.

Another  ideas  Popplet will be useful is in drawing  a character map or information map for a story that students are reading.
